A Development Not For Profit International Foundation

We operate a bit differently than a lot of the big offices you see around the city. We don’t even have a physical storefront that people walk into every day; a lot of what we do is handled through our email at Pahariyasrediffmail.com. It’s a non-profit setup, so we’re always looking at how to make the most of very little. Most of the time, we are out in the field or working from wherever we can get a signal to check our messages. We focus on development work, which means a lot of traveling to places that don't always have the best roads. It’s not a glamorous life at all. We spend a lot of time writing proposals and trying to coordinate help for communities that need it. Sometimes the communication is slow because we’re using older systems or the internet is patchy where we are working that week. We don't have a big staff with fancy titles. It’s just a few dedicated people who care about making a dent in the problems we see around us. It’s messy and sometimes frustrating when things don’t go as planned, but we keep trying. We don’t have a glossy brochure to hand out. If someone wants to reach us, they usually just send an email and wait for us to get back from whatever project we’re currently visiting. It’s a slow and steady process, and we stay busy.
