The Royal College

The Royal College is located on Yamnotri Road in Vikas Nagar. It’s on the way out of Dehradun, so we get a bit of that mountain air. The college isn't a massive complex, just a few buildings where students come for their classes. We have people traveling from various parts of the district to get here every day. The morning commute can be a bit of a hassle for the staff and students because of the narrow roads. Inside, the classrooms are basic and functional. We spend our time going through the syllabus and preparing for the next set of exams. There’s always a lot of chatter in the corridors between lectures. We have a small staff room where we sit and drink tea while grading papers. It’s a lot of work keeping everything running smoothly. We deal with the usual student complaints and the paperwork that comes with running a college. The view of the hills is nice, but mostly we are just looking at desks and textbooks. We don't have any high-end facilities, just what’s needed for teaching. It’s a straightforward place. Most people in Vikas Nagar know us as the college on the main road. We just try to get the work done and make sure the students show up for their classes on time. It is a long day for everyone, but we manage.
