We are out in Kanhera, specifically in the Purakanera area. Anar Singh is the person who looks after the place for Shree Ranjeetsingh Ji Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s a small village setup where everyone knows each other’s business anyway. We decided to put our resources together because the markets were getting harder to navigate on our own. Our office is just a simple room where we keep some sacks and our logbooks. The dust from the roads often blows in, but we don't mind it much because that's just life here. We spend our days chatting with the local farmers about how the crops are coming along and if there’s any pests we need to worry about. Anar Singh handles the main coordination, making sure the people who need seeds get them at the right time. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure that the people in Kanhera can get a fair shake when it’s time to sell the harvest. The weather is unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time looking at the sky and hoping for the best. Sometimes the work is slow and we just sit around the porch, and other times it's so busy we can't even stop for lunch. It’s a very basic way of doing things, but it works for us. We aren't experts in business, just people who know the land and want to keep farming here without losing too much money to the middlemen.
