Joonbeli Farmer Producer Company Limited

We started Joonbeli Farmer Producer Company Limited right here in Majusiral. It is basically just a bunch of us farmers coming together so we can handle our crops a bit better. Saidur Rahman’s place is where we usually meet up to talk. It isn’t anything fancy, just a room with some old chairs and a lot of talk about the weather and the soil. We have lived around here our whole lives, so we know how the ground works and what grows well in this dirt. Farming is never easy, especially when you are trying to do everything on your own. That is why we decided to group up. We help each other out with seeds or when the harvest time gets too busy for one family. Sometimes the rain doesn’t come when it should, or the market prices are just plain bad, but having this company makes it feel more manageable. Most of our days are spent out in the fields, so if you come by the office at Majusiral, you might find it quiet until the evening. We aren’t trying to be some big corporation. We just want to make sure our families can keep farming and that the village stays strong. It is hard work, sweating under the sun every day, but it is what we know. We do not have any slick brochures. Just the tools in our sheds and the land we work. It is a simple life and we are just trying to keep it going.
