Hemant Thapa

I am Hemant Thapa and I work out of Sangsay, specifically in the Fikkalay area. It is part of Upper Dalapchand in Kalimpong. Being up here in the hills is different from being in a city. The air is better but the roads can be a challenge, especially when it rains. I have my space here where I handle my daily work. It is not a big company with many departments. It is mostly just me and a few others helping out. We deal with whatever comes our way in this part of Kalimpong. My address is where I spend most of my time. People from the village know where to find me if they need something. We don't have a big office building. It’s more of a home-based setup that has grown over time. Everything happens at a slower pace here compared to the plains, but we still get our work done. The post comes through Upper Dalapchand. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, but we manage. I have lived here a long time, so I know the land and the people. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We don't do much marketing or anything like that. Word of mouth is how people hear about us. We just try to be useful to the folks around Sangsay. It’s a simple way of living and working that seems to suit everyone involved. We are just happy to be working in such a beautiful place like this and helping out where we can.
