Our spot is at the PFC & OSBL site, right near the Mangalore Refinery & Petro Chemicals. It is a massive area, and Punjlloyd Ltd. has been part of the landscape here for quite some time. Living and working near a refinery means everything is on a much larger scale. We deal with big pipes, heavy machinery, and constant activity. It isn’t the kind of place where you wear a suit and tie. Most of us are in overalls and safety gear from sunup to sundown. The air always has that industrial scent, and there is a low hum of machinery in the background that you eventually stop noticing. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine that makes lattes. We have a kettle and some benches. Our work is about making sure the infrastructure holds up and the systems run like they should. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the sun beats down on the metal. We take breaks when we can, usually under whatever shade we can find. The crew is a mix of people from all over, but we’ve worked together so long we don't need to say much to understand what needs to happen. We aren't here to win any beauty contests with our site office. We are here to do the heavy lifting that keeps things moving. It’s a tough environment, but it’s what we know.
