Sri Bricks

Sri Bricks has been here in Gramanapaly for quite some time now. We are located right near the bus stop, so you probably see our yard every time you are heading into Rajampet. The place is usually quite messy because of all the red clay we have to use for the bricks. It gets everywhere, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon and blows through the village. My brother and I run the place most days. We have a small crew of guys from the local area who help us with the moulding and tending to the kilns. It is hard work, and the sun definitely does not make it any easier out here in the open. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for the weather to clear up before we can even get a good batch dry. We do not have a fancy office or anything like that. It is just a small room with a wooden desk and a fan that barely works. Most people just walk in off the road or call us on the mobile when they need a load for a garden wall or a small house. We use an old truck for all our deliveries, but it breaks down more than I would like to admit. You can hear it coming from a mile away. We do not do any big advertising. People just know where we are. We spend our mornings checking the bricks and the evenings drinking tea. It is just a regular life here.
