Vm Brick Industries

If you drive down the Panruti Main Road, you will find us at 102/1 A in the Palli Thotti area. Vm Brick Industries has been sitting on this plot for quite a while now. It’s a busy road so there is always a lot of dust and noise from the trucks passing by. I usually spend my mornings checking on the workers and seeing how many bricks we managed to get out of the kiln overnight. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the sun is beating down on the open yard. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s mostly just a small shed where we keep the books and take a break from the heat. The bricks we make are used for local buildings around here. Sometimes the clay isn't exactly the same color as the last batch, but people around Panruti don't seem to mind too much as long as they are solid. We have a few old trucks that we use for deliveries, though they break down more often than I’d like. Fixing the machinery takes up a lot of my time. It’s a simple business, really. We just make the bricks and hope the market stays steady. It’s hard work on the back and hands, but it’s what we know how to do best after all these years.
