Sds School

Sds School is on Pazhvaikal Street in Kumarakud, which is a part of Cuddalore. This is a small area and the street isn't very wide, so it gets a bit crowded when parents come to pick up their children. The school has been here for a while and the building shows its age a bit, but we try to keep it painted and clean. We have a few rooms where the children sit for their lessons. It’s a local school for local families. We don’t have air conditioning or big fancy gyms. We have fans that hum all day and a small open space where the kids gather for morning assembly. The teachers are mostly from Cuddalore and they speak the local language with the parents. It’s a very down-to-earth place. Sometimes when it rains heavily, the street gets a bit flooded, but we manage. We handle all the administration ourselves, from the admissions to the daily attendance. It’s a lot of manual work and we stay busy with it from Monday to Saturday. People in Kumarakud know us by name, and we like it that way. We aren't trying to be the biggest school in the state. We are just a local school trying to do a decent job for the kids in our neighborhood. It’s a quiet life, mostly focused on the daily sounds of children learning their lessons and playing.
