Athena Global School

Athena Global School is situated on T Neducheri Road in Chidambaram. This town is famous for its temples, but our corner of it is just a regular street with houses and small shops. The school building stands out a little bit because of its size, but otherwise, it fits right into the local scene. On most days, you will see a lot of activity near the entrance around eight in the morning. The air in Chidambaram can be quite humid, so we keep the windows open to let the breeze through the classrooms. We have different rooms for different ages, and the furniture is the kind you would expect in any working school. It is not a place with a lot of marble or glass; it is built for use. The staff here are mostly local people who understand the rhythm of the town. We follow the school calendar closely, marking off the holidays and the exam periods like every other place. There is a small area for the kids to play during their break, and it usually stays quite loud until the whistle blows. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations. Most of our focus is just on the daily routine of classes and making sure the water coolers stay filled. If you walk past on a Saturday, it is much quieter, and you can just see the watchman sitting by the gate. This is simply how the place runs day to day.
