Nithin School is over in Gandhi Nagar, which is part of the Neyveli township. If you know Neyveli, you know it’s a very planned and specific kind of place to live and work. Our school fits right into that neighborhood. We have a small campus with a few buildings and a yard where the students gather for the morning assembly. It’s usually pretty quiet in Gandhi Nagar until the school bell rings. We have a lot of trees around the perimeter which helps with the heat, though it still gets quite warm in the afternoons. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff—desks, cupboards, and stacks of notebooks waiting to be corrected. Our staff room is a bit small and always crowded during the tea break. We talk about the lessons and the town news while we have our snacks. Many of the families who send their kids here work in the local industries, so there’s a real sense of community in the school. We don’t have a flashy entrance or a lot of fancy tech. It’s just a standard school where we follow the routine every day. The school bus parks out front every morning, and that’s when the day really kicks off. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the building has some wear and tear, but it serves us well enough for what we do. It’s just a normal place for the kids to spend their day.
