Billimalai Estate

Billimalai Estate is located up in the Nillgiris, specifically at Katara Post. If you've ever been up in these hills, you know how the mist rolls in and everything stays green most of the year. It’s a very different vibe from the busy cities down below. We spend most of our time dealing with the estate work, which can be pretty tiring but it's what we know. The air is cool and thin up here, and the post office at Katara is our main link to the rest of the world for mail and stuff. It isn’t a place with paved sidewalks or bright streetlights. It is mostly dirt paths and rows of tea bushes stretching out as far as you can see. We have a small office where we keep the records, but most of the real work happens outside on the slopes. Sometimes the weather gets really rough with heavy rains, and we just have to hunker down and wait it out. It is a quiet existence for the most part. We don't have any big corporate slogans or fancy mission statements posted on the walls. We just focus on the estate and making sure the harvest is handled the way it should be. It takes a lot of patience to work in the Nillgiris because you are always at the mercy of the mountains and the rain. But it is a good place to be if you like the quiet and the hard work.
