Zf Windpower Coimbatore Pvt.Ltd. is set up at Plot No.3 in the Hi Tech Engineering and Services Sector SEZ. We’re right on the Kamanaikenpalayam-Annur Road in Kittampalayam. It’s a specialized area, so it feels a bit different from a regular city street. There’s a lot of focus on wind power components here, which means we deal with some pretty large and heavy parts. When you walk through the doors, you can see the scale of what we’re trying to put together. The SEZ is a busy place, with a lot of other engineering firms around, so there’s always something happening on the road outside. We spend our hours checking specs and making sure the assembly is going okay. It’s not the kind of job where you sit still for long. The breeze out here in Kittampalayam is actually quite nice, which is fitting given what we work on. We don’t have much use for corporate slogans or big marketing pitches. We just have our workstations and the tools we need to get through the day's tasks. The guys on the floor know the machines inside and out. It’s a lot of technical work, but we talk about it in simple terms. We’re just here to build the parts that go into those big turbines you see out in the fields. It’s a steady job in a quiet part of the district, and we like it that way.
