C.R.I Pumps is located at 7/46-1 on Keernatham Road in Saravanmaptti. It’s a busy stretch of road and we’ve been part of this landscape for a good while. Inside, it’s all about the pumps. We have different models sitting around and the sound of testing sometimes echoes through the place. Saravanmaptti has grown a lot lately, but we still feel like a local fixture in the neighborhood. The workshop area is where the real action happens. We spend our time checking the seals and the motors. It’s greasy work sometimes, but that’s how you know things are getting done properly. We have a mix of old hands who have been fixing pumps for thirty years and some newer folks learning the ropes. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will help you out. We talk to farmers and house owners who need to move water from one place to another. It’s a basic need, so the work feels important in a quiet way. The humidity here can be something else in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We have our lunch under the shade when we can.
