Yash Export

Our business, Yash Export, is situated at No. 38/1 in Vivekananda Nagar. It’s a residential-turned-commercial area in Singanallur. The street is lined with trees, which makes it a bit cooler than the main road during the summer. We have a small front yard where we keep a few potted plants, though we forget to water them sometimes when we get busy. The office is basically a converted house. It feels more comfortable that way. We use the front room for the main office and the back rooms for storage and a small pantry. There’s a lot of history in this building. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years as more businesses moved in. Most of our day involves talking to suppliers and arranging transport for our goods. We don't have any big corporate logos or anything like that. Just a simple nameplate by the gate. The mailman knows us by name and stops to chat. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog comes and sits by our door. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere here, even when we are busy with a big order. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s not a fancy operation, but it’s ours and it works for what we need to do every day. We usually close up early on Saturdays to spend time with our families and friends in the local area.
