Sangani Industries

Sangani Industries is located at V/43 (1) on Velanthavalam Road. We are right opposite the Lunar's Hawai place in K. G. Chavady. If you know that area, you know it’s quite industrial and the road sees a lot of heavy traffic. It’s noisy and there’s always a bit of smoke or dust in the air from the trucks passing by. We spend our days inside the workshop. It’s hot work, and the machines make a lot of noise. You have to shout sometimes just to be heard over the hum of the engines. We don't have fancy uniforms; we just wear old clothes that we don't mind getting greasy. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. It’s usually covered in a fine layer of dust by the end of the day. We don't have any polished sales pitches. We just show people what we can make or fix. Some of the guys have been working here since they were young. We eat our lunch together on the benches outside when it’s not too sunny. We don't talk about innovation or becoming industry leaders. We just talk about how to get the machine running again or why the shipment of raw material is late. It’s a tough environment, but it’s our living and we’re used to the grit of it. My hands are usually stained with ink and oil by five o'clock.
