Veejay Gifters

We set up Veejay Gifters over in Vg Rao Nagar Phase 2. The address is 32/1, right in the Ganapathy area. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main city center, which is why we like it. We sell all sorts of things that people give as presents. There are photo frames, small statues, some clocks, and wrapped boxes of chocolates sometimes. We started this because we noticed people in this neighborhood had to drive too far just to find a birthday card or a small token for a friend. The shop is managed by family. We take turns sitting behind the counter. My nephew helps out on his days off from college. The shelves are wooden and a bit old now, but they hold the weight of the items. We get new stock every couple of weeks. Sometimes the delivery truck gets lost finding our street, so things arrive late. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people want to see what we have, they just drop in and look around. We keep a notebook to write down what people ask for so we can try to find it next time we go to the wholesalers. It’s not a huge operation, just a local shop for the Ganapathy community. We stay open until about eight at night, unless it’s a major holiday. It is just a practical place to find a gift.
