Sun Cool Drings

Sun Cool Drings is located at 49/5 on Puthumariamman Koil Street. We are right in the Puthumariammam Koil area of Ponnammapet, very close to the temple itself. You can often hear the bells ringing while we are working. Our shop is small. It focuses on keeping drinks cold for anyone passing by or for the local residents. We have a few large chest freezers that take up most of the floor space. They hum loudly all day and night. The walls are painted a simple blue, but the paint is peeling in a few corners because of the humidity. It gets very busy during festival times. That is when many people visit the temple and stop by for a drink to cool off. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass bottles and stacking them back into the plastic crates. It is a routine that doesn't change much. There is a small bench out front. People sometimes sit for a minute, but mostly they just grab what they need and keep moving. The street is quite narrow, so when the delivery truck comes, it blocks the whole way. The neighbors have to wait. We know most of the people on the street by name. It feels like a very tight-knit neighborhood. We just focus on keeping the stock full and the fridges running so the drinks stay cold for everyone.
