Sri Kumaraguru Supermarket

Sri Kumaraguru Supermarket is located at 104 Iswariya Nagar in Kudimangalam. We call it a supermarket, but it’s really just a larger sized corner shop for the people living in the housing colony. We moved into this spot a few years ago. The shelves are mostly filled with pulses, rice, soaps, and plastic buckets. It’s a quiet area compared to the main town. Most of our customers are housewives from the neighborhood who come in during the afternoon. We know which brands they like and what they find too expensive. The flooring is plain grey cement, and we have a couple of fans that stay on all day to keep the air moving. My nephew works the counter most days while I handle the suppliers. It’s a lot of paperwork. We don't have those fancy barcode scanners, so we just type the prices in manually. It takes a bit longer, but nobody seems to mind. Sometimes we run out of change, and we have to ask the neighbor for some coins. That’s just how it goes in a place like this. We try to keep the place clean, but the wind blows in a lot of sand from the empty plots nearby. We aren't part of any big chain. It’s just us trying to provide what the local families need without them having to drive all the way into the city. We keep things simple.
