Shankar & Co

Shankar & Co is up on the first floor at 109 Nehru Street. Being in Ram Nagar means there is always a lot of noise from the street below, but being one level up helps a little bit. You have to walk up the stairs to find us. The steps are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your footing if you are carrying anything heavy. We have been operating from this same spot for quite some time now. The office has big windows that look out over the street, so we can see everyone coming and going from the shops downstairs. It gets quite bright in the afternoons when the sun hits the glass. We usually have a few files piled up on the desks and the phone rings more than we’d like, but it keeps us busy. Most of our day is spent talking to people or filling out paperwork. It isn't the most exciting work, but it’s what we know how to do. Nehru Street is a landmark in itself, so people don't usually have a hard time finding where we are located. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have worked together for years. We know each other’s habits and how everyone likes their tea. It’s a bit cramped when we have visitors, but we make it work. Ram Nagar is a good place to be, even with all the traffic and the constant honking from the cars outside.
