Shammah Exports

We are over at No. 11/16 Durai Rajan Illam in Sri Kumaran Nagar. It’s part of the P & T Colony area in Kovundampalyam, near Saibaba Colony. That’s a long address, but it’s basically just a house that we’ve converted into our workspace for Shammah Exports. It feels more like a home than an office, which is fine by us. We sit around the main table and go through our export lists every morning. There’s a small garden out front that we try to keep tidy, though the dust from the road makes it hard. We handle a variety of goods and send them out to different places. It’s a family-run sort of vibe, even for the staff who aren't related. We eat lunch together and talk about things other than work sometimes. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls. The walls just have some calendars and a map of the shipping routes. Our neighbors are mostly families, so we try not to be too loud when trucks are coming by to load up. It’s a quiet life compared to the city center. We just focus on getting the exports ready and making sure the paperwork is in order for the customs people. It’s a steady way to spend the day in Kovundampalyam. We’ve been here for years and the community knows us well.
