Service Engineer

Our place is tucked away on East West Street in Amul Nagar Extension. Selvapuram is a good area to be in, even if the streets get a bit tight when everyone is parked outside. We’ve been at number 16 for a long time. It’s where all the tools are kept and where we try to keep things running. It’s not a shiny place. The walls could use some paint, but that doesn’t really affect how we work. Mostly, it’s just the sound of tools and the radio playing in the background. We handle whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it takes all day and we’re still scratching our heads. That’s just the nature of being a service engineer. You never quite know what the problem is until you open things up. We have a lot of old manuals sitting on the shelf just in case. People around Coimbatore know us as the local guys who just get on with it. We don't have any big speeches to give. We just open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished for the day. It’s a steady pace. Sometimes we have a tea break out front and watch the bikes go by. It’s a basic life, but it suits us just fine. No complaints here. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the technical bits. It is not always easy, but we manage to get through the list.
