Maimoon Engineering

We are tucked away at No. 76 Marappan Streetkattoor. It’s a narrow street so sometimes getting bigger deliveries in is a bit of a challenge. Maimoon Engineering is a small shop. We’ve got our lathes and tools set up in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit cluttered to anyone else. We do a lot of small-scale engineering jobs. People bring in broken parts or sketches of what they need. We spend our time measuring and cutting. The smell of oil and cut metal is always in the air. We don't have a receptionist. If the bell rings, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and goes to see who it is. Kattoor has a lot of these kinds of shops. It's a good community for fixing things. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard but we know where to put the buckets. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s ours. We don't really do the internet thing much. Most people just know where we are. We focus on the task at hand. If a job is going to take three days, we tell them three days. We don't like to overcomplicate things. It's just about doing the work right so the parts fit together. Some days the machines act up but we fix them ourselves and keep going.
