Sampoorna Products

Sampoorna Products is found at No 19 on Voc Street in Mettupalayam. If you walk down the street, you can’t miss us because of the stacks of items we usually have near the entrance. The street is quite narrow and gets very busy during the middle of the day with scooters and pedestrians zigzagging around each other. We open up the shop around eight or nine in the morning, depending on who gets here first with the keys. The building itself is older, with high ceilings that help keep things a bit cooler when the Tamil Nadu heat starts to kick in. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with all the different products we keep on the shelves. We don’t really have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just us doing the work every day. We talk to the neighbors quite a bit, and sometimes we share tea when things are slow. Dealing with inventory takes up a huge chunk of our time. We have to count things manually and make sure the records match what’s actually sitting on the floor. It can get a bit dusty, and the fans are always humming in the background to try and move the air. When customers come by, they usually know what they want, so we just find it for them and get them on their way. It’s a simple way of working, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening.
