Vijaya Kumar Vegetables

You can find us over at No. 33 on Annur Main Road. Being on the main road means there is always something going on outside the door. Vijaya Kumar Vegetables is a busy little operation. We get the stock in very early, often while most people are still sleeping. The trucks pull up and we start unloading the crates. It can be a bit heavy and messy, especially if it rained the night before, but that’s just the nature of working with vegetables. We spend the morning sorting through everything. Some things are good, some things aren’t, and we have to be quick about it so nothing sits out too long in the heat. The shop floor is usually covered in a bit of dirt or stray leaves by noon, but we sweep it up when we get a chance. It’s a simple setup at number 33, just enough space for the produce and a small area for us to sit when the rush dies down. Annur is a decent place to be, and being right on the main road helps people find us without too much trouble. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Most people just know us by the crates stacked up front. It’s a lot of standing and lifting, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We just try to get the veggies out to people.
