Pembroke Tea

Our place, Pembroke Tea, is situated at 461 Cross Cut Road in Gandhipuram. This is a very busy part of town, so there is always noise from the street and people walking past the windows. We spend a lot of time organizing the tea crates and checking on the different blends we have. Cross Cut Road is known for being a hub for all sorts of shops, so we fit right in with the rest of the businesses here. It gets a bit hectic during the festival seasons when everyone is out shopping, but we manage to keep up with it. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We have some wooden counters and plenty of storage for the tea. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a local spot where you can get tea. The morning light hits the front of the store quite nicely before the sun gets too high. We usually start the day by sweeping the front and making sure everything looks okay. Most of our customers are from the surrounding Gandhipuram area, people who have been coming to this street for years. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and filling orders, but that’s just how we do things here. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop where we show up every day to do the work. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of all the vehicles outside, but we don’t mind much. We just keep the tea fresh and wait for the next person to walk in.
