Pappai Exports

At No. 2 Mettu Salai on Avarampalayam Road, you’ll find the Pappai Exports office. It’s a busy corner of Peelamedu. We’ve been working out of this building for a long time. The traffic on Avarampalayam Road can get pretty loud during rush hour, but we just shut the windows and get back to work. We mostly handle export goods. That means a lot of checking labels and making sure the packing is done right. It isn't very glamorous work, but it’s what we know how to do. The team here is small, just a few of us who have been together for years. We have our own way of doing things. Sometimes it looks messy to an outsider, but we know where everything is. Peelamedu is a good place to be located because everything we need is close by. We spend our days coordinating with drivers and checking the inventory lists. Sometimes the shipments are late and we have to stay a bit later to get things sorted. That’s just how it goes in this industry. We don't have any fancy mission statements or big goals, we just want to get the crates on the trucks and out to the port. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day. It keeps us busy and the bills paid.
