S. S. Akar Exportss

Being out here at No. 7/81 Nagamanaicken Palayam makes for a quieter workday than being in the middle of the city. We are near the Pattanam Post, Ondipudur via, so it takes a bit of time to get here if you are coming from the main parts of Coimbatore. S. S. Akar Exportss is mostly focused on getting things shipped out. The building we work in is pretty simple and stays relatively cool because of the trees nearby. We have a lot of space for our crates, which is good because they tend to pile up during the busy weeks. My desk is right by the window where I can see the trucks coming up the road. It is mostly just a few of us here, and we have known each other for a long time. The work isn't very complicated, but it requires us to stay on top of the details so nothing gets stuck at the port. We usually eat our lunch together in the small back room. There is always a bit of a breeze coming through the hallway, which helps with the heat. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just have to wait it out since we can't do much without the computers. It is a honest way to make a living, just handling the exports and making sure the documentation is filed correctly with the authorities. No one wears a suit here, we just wear what is comfortable for moving around.
