Negamam Granites Private Limited is situated at 5/63, Seripalayam, which is part of the Andipalayam area near Kindathukadavu. It is a bit of a drive out from the main Coimbatore city, but that is exactly where you need to be when you are dealing with heavy stone like granite. The landscape around here is mostly filled with open fields and other industrial sheds. Our yard is where all the action happens. We have big blocks of raw granite coming in on flatbeds and finished slabs being moved around by the cranes. It is definitely a dusty environment, and the noise of the cutting tools can be quite loud when we are in full swing during the day. We do not have a fancy corporate headquarters; our office is just a small, basic room near the entrance of the site where we keep the ledgers and handle the billing for the trucks. Most of the people who work here are locals from the nearby villages in the Coimbatore district. We’ve been operating in Seripalayam for a while now, and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the quarry trucks coming and going at all hours. The weather here can be quite dry and harsh, so we spend a lot of time just trying to stay cool and keeping the heavy machines maintained. It is hard, physical work, but there is something satisfying about seeing a raw piece of stone turned into something useful for a building.
