Kat Exports

You can find Kat Exports at No. 152 Arun Nagar on the Karamadai Road in Mettupalayam. Being right on the main road means we see a lot of people passing by all day. It gets quite loud with the buses and trucks, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. Our setup here is pretty basic. We have a front area where we talk to people and a back area where we keep the items ready for export. It’s a lot of coordination, really. One day we are worrying about the weather affecting the transport, and the next we are trying to find more space for a new batch of goods. We don’t have a flashy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a workspace with some desks and plenty of coffee mugs lying around. Mettupalayam is a busy place for trade, so there is always something happening on our street. We try to keep our head down and just handle the tasks as they come in. Sometimes things go smooth, and other times we are chasing after someone to get a signature we need for the paperwork. It’s just the way this business is. We’ve known some of our drivers for years, so we spend time chatting with them while they load up the vehicles. It’s a very human way of doing things, nothing too formal or stiff about it. We like it that way.
