Mariya Engineering Works. Our workshop is at number 13 on Thayir Itteri Road. We’re in the Kannappa Nagar part of Rathinapuri. It’s a busy little area with a lot of small shops. We do engineering work, which basically means we spend our days with lathes, grinders, and a lot of scrap metal. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the time we close up for the night. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We’ve been sitting here on Thayir Itteri Road for years now. Sometimes it’s quiet, and sometimes every machine is running at once and you can’t hear yourself think over the noise. We handle all sorts of small jobs for people in the neighborhood and some bigger stuff too. We don’t have a website or a big marketing plan or anything. People just know we are here in Rathinapuri when they need something turned or welded. It’s a practical place. We keep the tools sharp and the grease buckets full. If you walk down the street, you’ll likely hear us before you see us. We start early most days to beat the heat, and we stay until the last job is off the bench. It’s just us doing the best we can with the machines we have. Nothing fancy, just hard work and metal and making things fit.
