Kumharan Granites

We are located at Kumharan Granites on Mettupalayam Road. Our spot is S. F. No. 385 and 386, which is right near the Thudiyalur Police Station. It is a good landmark because everyone in the area knows where the station is. The road out front is always full of big trucks heading towards the hills. It makes the ground shake a little bit when the heavy ones go by at speed. We have a lot of space here for the granite slabs. We keep them lined up like giant books in a library. Some are black, some are red, and some have those little sparkles in the stone. I spend my mornings checking the inventory and talking to the guys who do the polishing work. The water they use for the stones makes the whole place smell like wet earth. Thudiyalur is a busy area these days. It used to be much quieter years ago, but now it is all new buildings and shops. I usually get my lunch from the small canteen across the street. Their food is a bit spicy but it fills you up for the afternoon. My office is just a corner with a simple table and a couple of plastic chairs. I keep a calendar on the wall with all the delivery dates circled in red ink. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on Mettupalayam Road.
