Balakrishna Engineers

We are over at No.8A, right near the Dar Kalyana Mandapam on Avinashi Road. It is a good spot in Chinniampalayam, though it gets quite congested during the wedding season when people are heading to the mandapam. Balakrishna Engineers is basically a workshop where we spend most of our time getting our hands dirty. The floor is concrete and has a few oil stains here and there from different projects we have worked on. We keep our tools on the wall racks, though they do not always end up back in the right place by Friday afternoon. R.G.Pudur is a working-class neighborhood, and we fit right in with the other shops around here. We started this place because we knew how to fix things and did not want to work in a big office building. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon is a bit much, so we keep the fans running at full speed. It is not a showroom or anything. It is just a space with benches, machines, and some old chairs for when we take a break. We handle the work as it comes in. Most of our neighbors know us by name, and we often share a tea from the stall down the road. It is a simple life for us. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing person. If you come by the shop, you will likely find us in our overalls, probably busy with a motor or some spare parts.
