We are Rmb Export, located at 548 Mettupalayam Road in the Jothipuram Post area. Being on Mettupalayam Road means it’s always busy outside. There is a constant sound of trucks and buses going past. Our building is easy to spot if you know what you’re looking for. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the inventory. We spend our mornings responding to messages and the afternoons are usually for the physical work. The layout of the place is a bit cramped because we have so many samples and documents everywhere. It’s not the kind of office you see in movies. There are stacks of paper on almost every flat surface and a lot of old ledgers we still keep just in case. The staff here is mostly local, so we all walk or take the bus to get in. We don’t do big presentations. If someone wants to know something, they just call or walk in. We deal with a lot of international shipping stuff, which means sometimes we are here late because of the time differences. It’s a lot of waiting for emails to come back. We drink way too much coffee just to stay alert during those long stretches. It’s a practical business. We aren’t trying to be anything we’re not. We just make sure the goods get from point A to point B without any trouble. The floor is concrete and the walls need some paint, but it works.
