Being located at 234/223 Ooty Main Road in Mettupalayam means we see a lot of travelers and heavy trucks passing by every single hour. Jeyam Exports is right on the main stretch, which makes it very easy for people to find us, though it can get quite loud with all the horns and engines. We’ve been here for a while, and this part of the Ooty road is always full of life. Our daily life involves a lot of checking items and making sure they are properly packed for transport. We work in a space that’s mostly filled with goods and some very basic office furniture that has seen better days. It’s a practical setup, nothing more than what we actually need to function day to day. The air here in Mettupalayam has that specific feel to it, especially being so close to the base of the hills. We start early to avoid the worst of the afternoon heat and try to get the heavy lifting done before the sun is directly overhead. Sometimes people stop by just to ask for directions to the hills, and we don’t mind helping out. It’s a friendly enough place once you get used to the pace. We handle the exports by staying organized and not overcomplicating the steps. Most of the time it’s just us working away to the sounds of the road outside. We aren't a corporate giant, just a local spot where work gets done steadily. We handle everything ourselves, from the first check to the final loading.
