Our place is at #370 Light House Road. Being near the water means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which helps with the humidity in the office. Jaypee Exports isn't a massive operation with hundreds of people. It’s just a few of us in this building, keeping track of shipments and talking to suppliers on the phone. The road outside can get noisy with the tourists and people headed to the beach, but we’ve gotten used to the sound over the years. We started out with just one room and eventually took over a bit more space as things grew. There’s always a pile of documents on the main table that needs sorting through. We don't use any high-tech systems here, mostly just notebooks and a couple of old computers that have seen better days. Lunch usually happens at the desks because we’re often waiting for a call back from someone in a different time zone. The walls are a bit faded and we probably should have repainted them last summer, but work kept us too busy to deal with it. We just focus on getting the goods from one point to another. It’s steady work and it keeps us occupied from morning until late evening. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to say hello or ask for a bit of help with something. It’s that kind of neighborhood. We like it here because everything is familiar and we know the local shops well enough to get what we need during the day.
