We set up shop at 85 Tupalayam Road in Vellakinar a few years back. It’s mostly just a warehouse space where we keep the organic grains and vegetables we get from the nearby farms. The walls are plain, and we spend a lot of time sorting through bags to make sure everything is clean. It’s not a supermarket; it’s more of a place where we bag things up for people who care about where their food comes from. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because of the traffic on the main road, but we manage. My cousin helps me with the heavy lifting and the inventory counts. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just tell people what we have available this week on a chalkboard. The floor gets a bit muddy when it rains, and we’re always sweeping up bits of grain and husks. It’s practical work. We spend our mornings talking to farmers and our afternoons getting orders ready for the local shops. It’s a bit slow-paced, which suits us just fine. People in Vellakinar know they can just walk in and ask what’s fresh from the fields. We don’t have fancy packaging, just simple bags with labels we print ourselves. It’s just a small business trying to get decent food to the local tables without making a big fuss about it. We take our time and do it right. It’s quiet and we like it that way.
