Imayam Engineering Works

Finding us isn't too hard if you know the Echanari railway flyover. We are right there on Pollachi Main Road. Imayam Engineering Works is a busy place, mostly because of all the traffic passing by toward Coimbatore. The workshop is always humming with some kind of job or repair. We have been in this spot for a good while now. The noise from the trains and the trucks on the road is something you just get used to after a week or two. We handle a lot of different engineering tasks, mostly whatever the local shops or farmers need help with for their equipment. It’s a lot of welding and grinding most days. My hands are usually stained with oil by ten in the morning. We have a few old machines that still work better than the newer ones we bought recently. The weather gets pretty warm here, so we keep the big doors open to catch any breeze from the road. Sometimes the rain comes down so hard we can't hear ourselves talk under the tin roof of the workshop. It’s just a basic setup, no fancy lobby or anything like that. We mostly just drink tea and talk about the day's work during the breaks. Customers just pull up their trucks outside on the shoulder of the road. It’s a practical way to run things. We don't spend money on things we don't need. We just focus on the metal.
