G. K. T. Granites

Our place is located on Vikram Avenue in the Ravindranath Layout area of New Sidhapudur. We’ve been running G. K. T. Granites from this spot for quite a while now. It’s tucked away in a residential-style layout, which makes it a bit more peaceful than being on a main highway. We have slabs of granite leaning against the walls and more piled up in the back. It’s a lot of grey and black stone, mostly. People from around Sidhapudur come by when they’re doing up their kitchens or stairs. We spend a lot of time showing them the different patterns in the rock. It’s natural stuff, so every piece is a bit different, and we have to explain that to folks sometimes. We aren’t some big corporate entity; it’s just us here at number 59 G/a. We handle the loading and unloading ourselves most days. The yard can get a bit wet when it rains, and moving the stones becomes a bit more tricky then. We’ve got our routine down, opening up in the morning and checking what needs to be delivered to construction sites. It’s steady work, and we like being part of this neighborhood. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello or ask for a small piece of stone for a repair. We just do what we can to help out and keep the business going year after year without any fuss.
