Our place is at 448, Vellalore Road, in the Singanallur area. Five Fingers Exports India Private Limited is the full name, but we usually just think of ourselves as the export house on the main road. Singanallur is a busy part of the city, and being on Vellalore Road means there is always something going on outside our windows. We have a lot of trucks and vans passing by all day long. The building is pretty simple. We have enough space for the staff and the stuff we need to get ready for shipping. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking the crates. It is not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy and we like the routine of it. Some of us have been working here for years, so we know the local area like the back of our hands. We don't go in for big mission statements or anything like that. We just focus on getting the exports out to where they need to go. If the paperwork is right and the goods are packed, it is a good day. The weather in this part of Tamil Nadu can be a bit much in the summer, but we just keep the doors open and get on with it. It is a local business through and through. We are just regular people doing regular work on Vellalore Road, making sure everything is handled correctly before it leaves the warehouse.
