Emerald Engineering Company

Emerald Engineering Company is tucked away at No. 14 in Krishnaraj Colony. To get here, you have to come down Sanganoor Road and look for Ganapathy Siddha Thottam. It’s a bit of a winding path if you don’t know the area well. We’ve got a small workshop here where we do our engineering tasks. It’s mostly just a bunch of us who have been doing this for years. The building isn't anything special to look at, just some bricks and a tin roof in parts. Inside, it's pretty packed with lathes and different tools we’ve collected over time. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just a small one near the door. The colony is usually quiet except for when we are running the heavier equipment. We spend our mornings checking the drawings and getting the machines warmed up. There’s always a bit of oil on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. We keep a ledger for all the jobs that come through. It’s a very manual process from start to finish. We don’t have a website or anything like that; word of mouth usually brings people to our door. It’s just how things have always worked for us. If you come by, you might find us sitting outside on the bench during lunch. We like the neighborhood and the people around here are good to us.
