Our place is at 49, Thirunallur Street in Ramakrishna Nagar. We deal with appliances, so our space is usually full of boxes and spare parts. It’s a regular street with houses and other small businesses mixed together. We don't have a giant showroom. Most of our work involves moving these machines around and making sure they are ready to go. The floor is usually covered in bubble wrap or cardboard scraps. It’s just a few of us working here. We start the day by checking the orders that came in overnight. Ramakrishna Nagar is a decent area, not too loud but busy enough that you feel like you are in the city. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people about their fridges or washing machines. We don't use a lot of technical jargon. We just try to explain what’s wrong or what part is needed in plain English. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the street for a minute, and we have to hurry to unload. That’s just part of the job. We don't have any awards on the wall or a fancy logo. It’s just a practical office where we handle the business of appliances. We’ve been on Thirunallur Street long enough that the neighbors know who we are. It’s a steady, quiet kind of life.
