Cafe Dine

Cafe Dine is at 89, Ukkadam, right on Fathima Nagar Main Road. This part of Ukkadam is always moving. There are buses, trucks, and scooters passing by every second. Our front door opens right onto the sidewalk of the main road. Because of the location, we get a lot of dust, so we are always wiping the tables down. The shop isn't very large, but we have enough room for several tables. Most of our customers are locals from Fathima Nagar or people who work at the nearby shops. It is a simple setup with basic lighting and some old posters on the walls. We do not try to be anything we are not. We just provide a place for people to sit down and eat something. The kitchen is small and it gets quite hot back there, but we are used to it. You can hear the sounds of the street even when the door is shut. Sometimes we have a few people standing outside just talking and watching the traffic. We have been here for a while and have seen the area grow busier every year. We do not have a website or anything like that; people just know where we are. Every day starts the same way, with us pulling up the shutters and setting out the chairs. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late at night. We just take things as they come.
