Beekay Engineering Corporation is over at 45/47, Industrial Estate. We’ve been in this building for so long that we know every creak in the floor. It’s an engineering shop, so it’s always smelling of cutting oil and old metal. We have some big machines that take up most of the room. The address is pretty central for the estate, but the trucks always block the road, so it can be a pain to get here. We don't have a website that looks good or anyone to handle social media. We just answer the phone and talk to people who come to the door. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for decades. We do a lot of repair work and making parts that aren't easy to find anymore. The guys on the floor know these machines better than they know their own cars. We don't have a dress code; we just wear what’s comfortable and doesn't mind getting grease on it. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon hits, but we just put some buckets down and keep working. It’s not a polished operation, just a group of us who know how to handle steel and iron. We don’t make big promises, we just tell you when the job will be done. That’s the way we’ve always done things here.
