Amirtha Granites

We are based in Kuniyamuthur on Kgk Road at a place called Thopputhottam. It’s mostly a yard for granite slabs and we spend most of our day moving these heavy stones around. The yard gets really hot in the afternoon sun and there isn't much shade. We have been in this spot for several years and the neighbors have grown used to the sound of the machinery. We aren't a big showroom with fancy lights or glass doors. It is more of a practical workspace where we handle the raw stone. Kuniyamuthur has changed a lot since we started, with way more traffic on the road now. We see all kinds of people coming in looking for stone for their new houses. We keep the different types of granite stacked up in rows. It is heavy, tiring work and our clothes are usually covered in stone dust by the time we head home. We don't really do any advertising at all. Most people find us by word of mouth or just because they happen to be driving down Kgk Road. Sometimes the big lorries have a hard time turning into the yard because the road is narrow. We just manage as best we can. There is a tiny desk in the corner where we do the billing and talk to customers. It’s a simple life and we just focus on keeping the stone safe.
