Akshay Tiles

Our shop, Akshay Tiles, sits at 284 Perur Main Road in Vaikal Palayam. It’s a straightforward place where we keep a variety of tiles for all kinds of homes. We’ve been here for a good while, and most people around the Perur area know the location. It isn't a high-end gallery or anything like that. We have racks and stacks of ceramic and vitrified tiles taking up most of the floor space. When someone comes in, they usually have a rough idea of what they want, and we just show them what’s in stock. Sometimes we have to move heavy boxes around to find the right shade or batch. It’s hard work on the back, but it keeps us busy through the day. We don't spend money on big signs or loud ads. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for customers to drop by. Most of them are local families or builders working on nearby houses. We try to keep the prices where they should be for our neighbors. The shop can get a bit hot in the afternoons because of the sun hitting the front, but that’s just how it is. We’ve seen the road outside get wider and busier over the years. We stay focused on our work, making sure the orders are ready for pickup. It’s a basic business, and we are fine with that.
