Our location is over in Thippampatti, which is part of the Pollachi area in Coimbatore district. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s where all the action happens for us. Being in Tamil Nadu, the weather is usually hot and dusty, especially around the industrial spots. We have a large space because the work we do involves more than just desks. There is a lot of movement on the grounds, with vehicles and workers going about their business. It’s a practical environment. We don’t have fancy carpets or glass walls. It’s more about concrete floors and sturdy equipment. Most of the people working here are locals from the surrounding villages. We start early when it’s still a bit cool. The office part of the building is just a few rooms where we keep the logs and the payroll records. We have been part of this landscape for a long time, so everyone around Thippampatti knows the name. It’s not a place for people who like to sit in air conditioning all day. There is always something that needs fixing or moving. We eat our lunch together in the shaded area outside the main building. It’s a straightforward way of life, and the work reflects that. We just focus on keeping things running smoothly day after day without much fuss or any unnecessary complications.
