Our place is at No.-33, Pattalamman Kovil Street, in 3 Peelaneidu. A Bluehill Granites has been operating out of this spot for a bit. It’s a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the street carefully. Peelaneidu is a decent place to work, even if the roads are a bit narrow for the bigger lorries we use. We mostly deal in granite blocks and slabs. The yard is usually full of various colors and patterns, depending on what we have brought in recently. It’s a private limited company on paper, but on the ground, it’s just a group of us managing the inventory and making sure the saws are running right. Granite is hard to work with if you don't know what you are doing. We've had some long days here when the machines break down or the weather doesn't cooperate. There is nothing particularly special about our office. It’s just a place to keep the paperwork and take a break from the noise of the machinery. We don't go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People mostly find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing our trucks on Pattalamman Kovil Street. It is a steady business and we keep our heads down and work. We have seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over the years, but the stone business stays pretty much the same.
