Our place is Padmini Marble, and you can find us at E-7 in the Riico Industrial Area of Chanderia. It’s an industrial spot, so don’t expect anything too pretty when you pull up to the gate. We’ve got a lot of stone sitting out in the open. We’ve been here in Chanderia for quite a long time. The work is mostly about moving these big slabs around without breaking them, which is harder than it looks. We have a crane and a few trucks, and that’s about it for equipment. We aren't fancy people. We wear work clothes and get our hands dirty every single day. The office is just a small room with some chairs and a desk where we keep the ledgers. We don't use much technology besides the basics. We prefer talking to people face-to-face. If you need marble, you come in, look at what we’ve got, and we figure out a deal. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to sell our stock and go home to our families at night. Sometimes the market is slow, and other times we can't keep up with the demand. That's just the way it goes in this town. We’ve seen other shops come and go, but we’ve managed to stay put by just being practical and showing up every morning. It’s hard work, but the stone is beautiful once it’s polished.
