We named the group Ghogajan Bamboo Fed Farmers Producer Company Limited because bamboo is pretty much what we know best around here in the Koya area. It grows everywhere, but managing it so it actually pays the bills is a different story. We aren't some big corporation with suits; we’re just a bunch of neighbors who decided that working together might be easier than struggling alone. Some days the roads around Ps Koya are a mess, which makes moving the bamboo a real headache, but we manage. There’s always someone stopping by to complain about the price of tools or to ask when the next meeting is. We don’t have any polished speeches or fancy marketing. To be honest, most of our time is spent just trying to keep track of who brought in what and making sure the storage stays dry. It’s hard work, and sometimes things don’t go exactly how we thought they would, but that’s just how it is with farming and local trade. We’re just trying to keep the bamboo business going for the families here in Diplangpo Barahati.
